so many things..

There have been so many things going on its crazy. Like, planning a wedding, starting school, and trying to help take care of the nieces and nephews who are at my house.

Wedding planning hasn't been too terrible. The biggest things to me right now are: getting my dress cleaned, getting the rings, and getting the flower girl and bridesmaids dresses done. Everything else is falling into place nicely =)

School isn't too bad. I'm only taking one class this term. History 201 at PCC. Its been a pretty good first week.

With a lot of family in the house its sometimes hard to focus on one thing, but that's where having lots of siblings who are willing to help comes in handy. Thank the Lord for being so great and helping everyone (especially my parents) to be able to handle everything that's going on in their lives.

Life is insane sometimes. Ups and downs aren't always fun, but that's what happens. It's just life. And I love my crazy, hectic, sometimes not so fun, amazingly blessed life =)

P.S. Next thing to look forward to: bridal showers =D

Big Happenings

Guess what...I'M ENGAGED!!! =D To the most amazing guy. Charles A. Domina. He loves God, is sweet and caring, and loves me for me =)

One of our favorite paces to go is the Oregon Coast, cause hey, its the Oregon Coast!!

And thats where he proposed!
It was Sunday the 16th and his family and I had just gone to the beach like two weeks before, so it was kinda odd that we were going again, but I didn't really give it a second thought.

So we get there and Charlie's parents tell us that they're just gonna sit on a blanket near the big rock at Cannon Beach, and that we can go pretty much anywhere. That was the first thing that hinted that he was going to ask, because we normally don't separate when we go places all together. Then Charlie said that we were going to wander "that way" which was away from his parents (second hint). So we walked a little ways and came to a small log and he said we should sit down because his legs were tired from work (third hint). We sat down and talked a little bit and then he said "I love you. You know that, right?" and I said "Yes, I love you too" and then he kinda spun himself off the log and down onto one knee and opened a ring box (fourth hint). Then he said "Courtney Paige Hilman?" and I squeaked "yes?" with my hands over my mouth and then he asked "will you marry me?" and I said "yes!" Then I clumsily took my Promise ring off my left hand and put it onto my right, and he put the Engagement ring on my finger. Then we hugged =)

Then we went back to where his parents were, his mom was taking pictures of us walking towards them until we got to the blanket =P
Then we all went out to lunch/dinner =)

So thats my news for now. Thank you to all who have been giving their support! We really appreciate it =)

Wow

I was looking at posts from 2008..I was really excited about school then. I am now, but only cause I got 2 A's and I know I can do it. I just had a ton of motivation back when I got into Gateway, which is cool and helped me a lot in doing as well as I did the first 2 terms that I was at PCC.
Next term I'm taking a history class (ancient to medieval), a science class (volcano's and their activity), and boot camp (an intense PE class). I'm pretty excited =)
I guess that's all for now. I'm like really hungry so I is gonna go eat sumfin =)

Crazy Day

Ok, so Alyssa (my sister) is a counselor at her church's summer camp this week. I'm at her house baby-siting Rowan, and yesterday I was gonna bring Rowan out there for lunch, the camp site is only like 45 minutes away. Anyways, we left the house at about 10:45 because I wanted to give myself some extra time in case I got lost or something.

First we went to the gas station, but since we're in Washington I had to pump it myself (which I didn't know how to do) so the lady who worked inside helped me, she wasn't very happy about that, and we had a lot of problems with paying and stuff, but after about 10 minutes we got things worked out.

Logan had written down directions for me the night before, so I was following those. And everything was going great until I had to find a road that didn't seem to exist. I was supposed to turn left onto Skookumchuck, but I couldn't find it....so I kept driving. I ended up going through Centralia and Chehalis. I got onto the freeway and saw a sign that said "South to Portland" so I got off and had no idea where I was, all I knew was that I was still in Chehalis.

I pulled onto a side street and called my mom, and she told me just to go back onto the freeway, but to go north towards Seatle, and to go back to Alyssa's house. Right after that Alyssa called me and asked where I was, I had been crying when I was talking to my mom and I started crying again when I was talking to her. When I told her where I was she went and got a guy who was working at the camp with her to give me directions.

So after the guy gave me directions, I got back to where I was supposed to be. And I turned left onto 184th, not Skookumchuck. The camp is on 184th, but I couldn't find it. So I drove back and forth on that road for awhile and at one point I was turning around on a gravel side road, and I accidentally backed into a ditch and got stuck....and my phone didn't have signal at all.

Rowan had been in his carseat since 10:45, and now it was about 2:30, but he was being great. I decided that I wasn't going to just sit and try to get the car out myself (cause that would be dumb), so I got Rowan out and then we walked to a house that had a car in the driveway. I went and knocked on the door, and this older woman came out and I told her that my car was stuck and I asked if anyone was there who could help me. She said that her husband wasn't home, but her neighbor could probably help. So she drove me and Rowan to her neighbor's house, but he wasn't there, so we went to her other neighbor's house. It turns out that the first neighbor was at the second neighbor's house with his brother. They said that they would help us.

So the lady drove me and Rowan back to the car and another guy drove passed and then came back and asked if I needed any help, I told him that 2 people were coming to help. He said "ok" and then stayed around and ended up helping the other two push my car out of the ditch. I thanked them about a million and a half times, and so did Rowan =)

I started driving, and I had only driven for about 3 minutes when I saw he sign for the camp....I was SO mad, and I felt SO dumb =P
So, we got to the camp at about 3:30pm...and then the Day Campers (Alyssa is a counselor for them) left at like 4:15-ish, so I was just gonna follow the bus back to the church and then drive Lyssa home.

Two buses came out to the driveway, one turned left and the other turned right, I didn't know which one Alyssa had gotten on, but something told me to follow the one with more kids, so I did.

The bus ended up breaking down, and they needed someone to go back and tell the other people at the camp what had happened. So me, Alyssa, and Rowan went back to the camp, and when we got there we found out that one of the JH tents ripped in half, one of the high schoolers was getting arrested, and we had to tell the camp leaders about the broken down bus. We also found a lot of prayer circles.
We stayed around for about an hour and then we were sent back to the bus with snacks, but the other bus that we called when we got to the camp had already gotten there and taken the kids back to the church. So we just went to the church. Then we went home.

Alyssa and I were talking about it and we like looked back on the day and we feel like God's hand was in it all day. Because if I hadn't gotten lost, and hadn't gotten stuck in the ditch, I wouldn't have had to follow the bus home. If I hadn't followed the bus someone would've had to walk 6 miles in 80-90 degree weather back to the camp.

When Logan and Lyssa and I were at the house we were looking at Google Maps to see where I went...and we found out that 184th turns into Skookumchuck....so there really wasn't a Skookumchuck that I could've turned onto!

So, thats my story...and I'm sticking to it!

Pictures of the Hunt

Well, here they are =)

Summer...*sigh* warm =)

It was actually really cold in my room this morning...

So summer is here now....I can't believe it's already June! I swear it seems like yesterday it was February.

Anywhoo, I am uber excited because I'm going to La Grande next week!! I've been wanting to go for a while...I'm leaving on Thursday (after class) and coming back on Monday. I honestly don't think thats enough time, but I'll take what I can get =)

I'm taking a summer class, Reading 115. It's by choice, although I'm not sure why I made that choice.... It shouldn't be too hard.

OH! So I went to my church's high school life group last night and it was SOOO much fun!!! We had a scavenger hunt at Lloyd Center. I don't know how to post pictures on this computer (it's the Linux) I'll try on a different computer, but anyways! There were 3 teams. Team 1 was Ra'Chell, Nathaniel, Isaiah, and Madelyn, Team 2 was Hayden, Jacquie, and Danny, and Team 3 was Bobby, Jordan, and me. Each team had the same 12 pictures of different places in the mall, and you had to go to those places and take a picture with a team member in it. Throughout the whole hunt my team kept running into Team 1, who kept talking like they were done and heading back to the bridge(the decided meeting spot). There was one person on that team who was particularly cocky about it...we still tried hard to play fair and not be annoying about it. Anywhoo...so, the teams all finished in like 20 minutes and we had an hour...Team 2 got back to the meeting spot first and then we got there, then Team 3. But, it didn't matter who got back first, it mattered who called in first. Right after we got our last picture, Bobby called Michael and I called Debbie. We weren't sure who won until Michael checked the times on his phone...Bobby was ONE MINUTE ahead of Hayden!! And then Team 1 came in DEAD LAST!! I was a happy camper! =D I'm too competitive sometimes though....
Anyways, the winning team got to get ice cream! It was good, I got Rocky Road!
And then I saw Katelin and June and Bella, so that was really cool! Haha, and Bobby scared Katie cause he was looking at her gages and she didn't know and when he left she was like "Courtney, please tell me you know that guy...and if you do who is he and why was he looking at me all weird?" It was funny.

So yeah, thats all I have to say at the moment....I'll try to post the pictures soon!!

It's been long....too long....

Alyssa and I saved the world yesterday! First we were sitting in her car listening to music....then we realized that we had to save 3 people.....then she wasn't wearing shoes.....so I ran inside and looked for them, but before I went inside I opened the door and yelled "Dust off your converse, it's time to save the world!" Then she called me and said her converse were in the trunk of the car....so I flew out the door with my car keys in hand....then I moved the Price is Right onto the street....and then I jumped through the passenger side window!! Actually, I thought about jumping through the passenger side window, I really just opened the door and got in...but she was driving when I opened the door!! Anywhoo...then we went driving down 15th and saw the people we needed to save in order to save the world walking towards the house....so we quickly turned....(and went around the block)....and then when we were trying to get back onto 15th the enemy was surrounding us and we couldn't see the street!! So we braved the unseen road and made it back to the house....then we saw the victorious 3 come up the walk....then I did a victory tree climb!!! HAZZAH! The battle has been won!!!
